GPL V3 - comming to a project near you

&

GPL 3.0 DraftASL myself, but it is clear that the GPL will be important for years to come.

As expected the license requires any derivatives to carry forward the same license, with the exceptions that you can provide additional rights/permissions to the new stuff you have added (at least as I read section 7). But the bits about patents in this section is very interesting. I'm no lawyer so I'm probably not qualified to comment but it appears that if you ever use any GPL 3.0 software you can't try to enforce your patents for money. That will throw a kink in IT and product companies using GPL stuff, someone with more knowledge about this section care to comment?
