Pragmatic Isaac...

Ok for the last week or so my 7 year old (Isaac) has been asking me if he could read my copy of The Pragmatic Programmer. I kept telling him that it was intended for experienced programmers and that he should read the Java For Kids book that I got for him. He insisted so I gave him the copy and asked him to be careful with it expecting him to get bored with it in 30 minutes or so. Instead he got into it and loves it. He was telling Sarah about it in the morning, all about how the stone soup story really fit and a bunch of other stuff. He was disappointed when he could not read a new lesson for the third night in a row (the book recommends that you read one section a day and digest it). Anyway I could hardly believe it so I took some pictures.

Here is Isaac becoming pragmatic :-)

So you should teach him Squeak or Ruby now, so that he can put those lessons into practice in a "real" language.... ;-)

Merry Christmas!!!
