SALSA hits the Jackpot?

John Crupi was recently interviewed by eWeek about the architecutral mining tool SALSA here. This is facinating. The tool is built on Goslings Jackpot (interview here)tool and looks to have some great features. I have been in the role of cleanup guy as well as archtectural assessment lead. A tool like this would be most valuable. It should be quite interesting to see the presentation at J1 (I could not find the session becaue the site is toast, I'll try again latter and update if I find it). The tool has 2 & 3D visualization techniques and goes way beyond (if the hype can be belived) the typical UML tool that reverse engineers the code. Instead of showing you the vast detail avalible in the src it shows the abstractions and how they plug together. For example from a 2d visualization you could see the 'session facades' and the stuff that they cover as one group of things without all the nasty detail.

Anyway I'm excited to see what comes out of this!
