Woot!

May 01, 2008 by Bill Dudney

iPhone, key arrived, os installing, nothing to be said, NDA and all that, very excited...

Lame attempt to be funny, hard to be silent.

Comments:

i have been developing on the iphone since last september. thats cool you are using it now, but not cool that you have to use the sdk, which is super locked down.

p.s. when is your book out :P

@-InebriatedFish - Yes yes, to jailbreak or not to break. Problem I see is that it will be hard to make money off building apps that require a jailbreak. Not that it will be easy to make money off non-jailbroken apps but at least I don't have to walk my customers through the jail break process.

Mostly done with the iPhone chapter now. Book should go to printers the Monday of WWDC assuming the SDK goes public that day. Then on book store shelves shortly after that. But if you are looking to get at it now you can get into the beta program. Read all about it here;

@Chromatically Challenged - Quote Othello

IAGO
O, beware, my lord, of jealousy;
It is the green-eyed monster which doth mock
The meat it feeds on; that cuckold lives in bliss
Who, certain of his fate, loves not his wronger;
But, O, what damned minutes tells he o'er
Who dotes, yet doubts, suspects, yet strongly loves!

OTHELLO
O misery!

So where can NDA-silenced people talk to each other about iPhone development issues? I couldn't find any forums at developer.apple.com :-(
