full week
The first weeks of September have been extremely full. There are so many good things we are choosing to do with our family this fall, which is good. The hard thing is that they seem to all come at once. We are adjusting much better this week than last with the new busy-ness. We are used to being home most nights and together relaxing as a family (and watching Star Trek). The fall seems to bring more activities in the evenings than the rest of the year.
This week, between Monday and Thursday we have Lego League, piano lessons, Great Books Group, Wednesday Co-op, Jr. High, and group piano lessons, which is a lot for us. Thankfully, two of the events are only once a month, so other weeks aren't quite so crazy.
We are doing well, though, and excited about the activities and learning that comes with having older children. I can now say that we are enjoying the IEW writing course that 4 of the children are taking at the co-op. We are also excited to have completed our first book and discussion group for our "Great Books Group" that we started this year. It is good to read and discuss the classics together. This months book was "Treasure Island". Next month, we are reading "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen. The boys are going to love it!
AWANA started again this week, and the kids are so excited! Jacob started his first year in Cubbies, is learning verses, and is doing quite well! Andrew and Isaac are excited because they get to cash in their Wii time for babysitting throughout the week.
How exciting! Great idea for the babysitting/Wii time. Our crazy Fall schedule starts up next week so I'm trying to mentally prepare. This will "enrich" the homeschooling right? :)
