dependable design award
This is the same trophy our team won last year. The team did excellent! They got 5th place overall in the robot game competition out of 52 teams! Their highest run at the competition was 280 points, which is amazing. They ran all the programs they worked so hard on, but the first one just wasn't working correctly, so in the end they ran the 2nd one and added a few things on the fly at the tournament for a few more points. Way to go!
Oh my... we are EXHAUSTED. We are canceling school at least today, getting our house back in order, and RELAXING! No more programming Lego Mindstorms for a while for Andrew. He is ready to pursue other interests. :)
Their presentation, teamwork, and technical interview also went well. Overall, they had a great day. It was long, and frustrating at times, but they pulled through it.
Thanks to all the parents, especially Tina, who helped with my younger children. Yes, we took ALL 6 of them to the competition. We got up at 5 am and got home at 10 pm. Jacob was beside himself because he was so tired, but he refuses to go to sleep. He just moves more and talks more when he's tired, so he doesn't fall asleep. Sleep is boring when there is so much to do. :)
