ahhh, space...

Last night our friend was able to come over and remove the wall completely and get it ready for drywall. He almost completed it, but it got too late. The last part is rebuilding a wall in the old door. We are going to fill the old door alcove with hooks for gloves.

So, while we wait on the last part of framing and the drywall, we will "move in" and use our new space. Getting everyone retrained to kick their shoes in this area will be fun, but it is WONDERFUL to have the space and not be tripping over shoes.

We still have to decide what flooring to do in this whole back hall area... hardwood or tile? I prefer hardwood the whole way to the door even though it isn't as practical. I will just put a carpet over it. I like fewer lines, and we can pull the hardwood up on the landing in the staircase and eliminate another problem area. What do you think?

I know you must be loving your new space!!! We have a back entryway problem as well, as far as coats and shoes and the storage of them is concerned. But we also have half as many people as you do! :)

It looks really good. I like the hardwood option too with a runner carpet/rug that you can vacuum and clean. I'm all about the clean lines, it seems to make things less chaotic, at least to the eyes. :)
