reentry, fall, nda, etc.
Since we got back from vacation a couple of weeks ago, life has been full. I have been recovering from being sick, and our calendar has filled.
First LEGO League (FLL) has started, and we have a plan to meet at least 4 hours per week for the next 4 weeks. We have a great team of 5 boys that are very excited to learn and build LEGOs.
The NDA (Apple's non-disclosure agreement) was unexpectedly lifted a few days after we got home, and all work gears shifted to the many projects that were shelved because he could not talk/write/speak about iPhone specifics. Bill was able to finally release his 2nd book this year, and several screen casts that he worked on over the summer. They have been quite successful in the past week they have been released. I guess there was a built up demand for these iPhone items. Very exciting, but he now has a LOT to do in the next few weeks.
School is going well, and many extra-curricular activities have begun - specifically piano and art. Sophia is SO excited to have an art class again. We were invited to participate in a class in a local private school, and so far she LOVES it. It is also good to get back into a routine with piano. Anna is learning harder pieces now, while Sophia continues to supplement her books with writing her own music. She is even going to get to play one of her own pieces at her next recital in December.
Yesterday, we went to the ballet in Denver and saw Swan Lake with the girls. The Colorado Ballet opens the theatre to the schools and homeschoolers to see the final dress rehearsal of each performance throughout the year. The tickets are very reasonable and it is a great opportunity to bring children to see quality performances. It is ok if someone is not perfectly silent. The theatre is filled with kids!
Another exciting thing to note is that we took the house OFF the market. We decided it was probably best to just stay here and wait a while to see what happens with the market, the economy, our job, etc. It has definitely made things a little easier to just not think about it anymore. Maybe God wants us here in this house, in this neighborhood for some reason for a little longer.
I am so thankful to have returned to a beautiful snow-free fall. We have had sunny, 60+F days with cool nights and beautiful yellow aspen trees. Tonight we are supposed to be having our first real storm of the season - not just flurries, but snow. Right now it sounds like it is pouring rain. We'll see if it actually amounts to anything, but we are under a winter storm advisory.
I apologize for not keeping up with my blog, but I have been wiped out by everything I have had going on. The above pictures are some fall pictures I took right after we got home.
Glad to read the update and so excited about Bill's work (although I'm sure the busy-ness will be hard for the next few weeks). Great pictures!
