Yesterday we started experiencing the smoke from the various fires across the west. In the morning we weren't sure if we had a forest or if it was the wind bringing it in. Well, about 11:30 am, the local online newspaper included an update on the smoke situation. It is so bad at times that we can smell smoke and cannot see some of the mountains around us.
As of yesterday at lunch, Bill was not sure if he was going to be able to stay here or if we'd have to go to Denver. Well, the wind kept blowing and moved enough out of the air here to make it bearable for his asthma.
This morning the smoke had rolled in again, but isn't as bad as yesterday. And today we heard that the smoke has reached Denver. So, it wouldn't have done us much good anyway.
