update
It has been forever since I updated my blog. I apologize. We have been getting back into the swing of things after returning from England, finishing up school, trying to not get too grumpy over the horrible cold and rainy weather we had for weeks straight (which is NOT summer), and then enjoying a little bit of sunshine and warm temps over the last week or so. We've also had an anniversary, a birthday, a piano recital, Junior High, art classes (in Parker) and baptisms.
Bill went to WWDC last week and had a great time connecting with so many people and is very excited about all the new updated Apple gadgets and possible iPhone apps he can write. His new iPhone is in the mail. He is now finished his iPhone book which will be in stores in a few weeks in paper form. He's working on a new iPhone app and more screen casts and can never find enough time in a day to get done all that he wants to do.
I have spent many hours over the last few weeks to plan, prepare, and purchase things for our next school year. I am still not done, but I'm excited about what we are going to be doing next year and how organized I am going to be for it!
Other big news (or maybe not so big news) is that we put our house on the market again. It is now a TERRIBLE market in Breckenridge, so we have little hope of selling, but we really want to sell, so we are putting it on the market. Unfortunately, it has been on the market for 3 weeks and we have not had one single showing. It only takes one! I also had prayed that we would only have a showing if we were going to get a contract, so that I wouldn't have to deal with the hassle of showing a house with a house full of people who use the house all the time.
A couple of weeks ago, three of the children were baptized! Isaac, Anna and Sophia chose to make a public confession of their faith in Jesus. They have been wanting to do this for a while, but have never had an opportunity. So, they were baptized in the near freezing snow melt waters of the blue river. It is a day they will never forget. We finished the special day with a family viewing of "Up" in our local theatre.
We are finishing up school by the end of this month. We have taken so much time off this year, that we are having to do book work a little longer than we usually like, but since it has been raining so much and has been so cold, we haven't missed anything. When it is nice, I do let everyone get outside as much as possible. We will take the whole month of July off and part of August before starting our next school year.
We are finishing school just in time for company to arrive. My sister and her family are coming for a few days in July, which will be so much fun. Their boys have never been to Colorado, so we are excited to be able to share this beautiful place with them. After my sister leaves, my parents will be here to celebrate my birthday. It will be great to see family again.
Bill has also planned a "Surprise Trip" for my 40th birthday in July. After 2 weeks of visitors, we are headed off for 11 days, just Bill and me, somewhere in the world. He will tell me on my birthday on the 13th what to pack, but I won't find out any more details until we get to the airport. Bill's mom is coming to watch the kids while we are gone. This is very exciting! And it is coming up soon!
So, I've uploaded many pictures and put them on the blog with little to no text. I will write more as I have time. But I may be back into blogging mode... maybe not.
Oooh what a fun surprise for your birthday! 11 DAYS?!! Looks like you have lots to look forward to in the next month with visitors coming, too! How fun!
